The Times used that age old slur Los Angeles Rams Jerseys 2019 , that unspeakable slur...and Rams fans were livid."Many Rams fans went to bed on Super Bowl Sunday with their heads still spinning.ly mustering a single field goal against an admittedly great game plan by Bill Belichick and Brian Flores? Many woke up still feeling empty only to receive a second gut punch courtesy of the Los Angeles Times’ front page headline which read:Now to be real, nobody expected any joy to be found in the headlines the day after a Super Bowl loss, and fluff is for teddy bears, but wow. All rivalries are loaded with unflattering nicknames for foes, and in the Rams case, rivals have routinely gone to “Lambs”. It rhymes with Rams, it’s a little sheep, why not? Anyone who has been a Rams fan for any period of time is certainly familiar with the taunt. However, in this case Rams fans weren’t trading barbs with 49ers fans or Raiders fans, it was the Los Angeles Times’ Super Bowl headline. Thanks!Nevermind that the Rams had been tied in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl and had virtually shut down Tom Brady’s offense; they lost, so they weren’t Rams 2019 Taylor Rapp Los Angeles Rams , they were Lambs. On social media the outrage was obvious from the jump, and even some fans of other teams (while loving it) admitted the headline was rather harsh. But were Rams fans just being over-sensitive following a Super Bowl loss? Well, let’s provide some context. Would the Denver Post write, “Donks, Not Broncos”? Would the San Jose Mercury write, “Whiners, not 49ers”?Or what about, “Kitten, not Tiger Woods”? Watch out, Gabby Douglas, you got the silver in 2015 Taylor Rapp Los Angeles Rams Jerseys , kind of a “Shabby” showing. Anyway, you get the picture, it was unprofessional. Rams special teamer Jake McQuaide was even fuming. Sports editor Angel Rodriguez attempted to lower the heat with this explanation:That may very well be the reasoning, but nevertheless, at best it made the Times editorial staff appear to be somewhat out of touch with any of the nuance of the Rams fan base. But amid the complaints and threats to cancel subscriptions, the Times is now admitting the mistake and apologizing. Who knows if the Rams themselves complained, or if it was the surge of angry fans alone, but the Times appears to be realizing that the Rams are now a serious presence in the LA sports landscape, with a growing following that likely only trails the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Dodgers. Being critical of the teams’ shortcomings is a must, but pot shots won’t likely go unnoticed. Years of trades have footed the bill. You can see them in this table here that I’m not going to embed because it’s a bit of a hot mess, but what you can see is that for all the trades since 2016 is that the Rams have brought in 13 less players than what they’ve traded away.Put simply Taylor Rapp black jersey , those deals have left the cupboard a bit bare at the back end of the roster.Deals like the trade for the #1 pick that we used to take QB Jared Goff in which we sent the Tennessee Titans six picks and received three back. Deals like the trades for WR Sammy Watkins and CB Aqib Talib and potentially EDGE Dante Fowler, Jr., where the Rams sent away draft picks that would have been on the roster for several more years than the players we brought in.The bottom line is that were it not for the trades (and I’m not advocating against them, I’m just pointing out the cost), the Rams would have 13 more players shoring up their roster. And when you look at all the role players on expiring deals, it’s clear that the Rams have a ton of work to do just to fill out the roster with capable talents this year and next. That means one thing. The Rams severely need to trade down this year.Specifically because of the trades, the Rams are in the unusual position of needing to backfill a gap in the roster timeline because of the sheer number of trades General Manager Les Snead has pulled off. Had the Rams held on to all those picks, they might already have a quarterback on the roster to supplant Sean Mannion as the QB2. They might have had an edge rusher that would have negated the motivation to trade for Fowler in the first place. They might already have the cornerback depth they severely need once Talib and perhaps even CB Marcus Peters are gone after the 2019 season. The Rams have been aggressive in bringing quality. But it has come at the expense of quantity. For that reason alone, the Rams need to balance the scale in favor of quantity this year by scaling back the quality of their draft capital.Work your magic, Lester.2019 NFL Draft LA Rams OrderRd#Rd#PickPlayerPOSSchoolRd#Rd#PickPlayerPOSSchool
